Trip with Historical Steamer to Blasewitz

Departure Time: 19:00

Join us for an enriching experience aboard a historical steamer as part of our social program. This trip offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the Saxon countryside on a relaxing cruise. Departing from the Terrassenufer in Dresden’s Old Town, attendees will have the chance to view the three historic Elbe castles from afar: Albrechtsberg Castle, Lingnerschloss Castle, and Eckberg Castle, all constructed on former vineyard sites within an 11-year period starting in 1850.

As we continue upriver, we will pass the notable Loschwitz Bridge, commonly known as the “Blue Wonder.” This remarkable suspension bridge, connecting Blasewitz with Loschwitz, spans the Elbe at a height of 15 meters and a length of 142 meters without any piers, showcasing Saxon engineering excellence. Additional sights include the TV Tower and the boatman’s church “Maria am Wasser.”

Our journey then leads us to Pillnitz Palace, arguably the most renowned castle in the region. Pillnitz Palace is recognized as one of the most significant chinoiserie castle complexes in Europe and served as the summer residence for Saxon kings, including Elector Augustus the Strong. The palace's magnificent park, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Orangery, and the surrounding palaces offer a glimpse into its storied past and architectural splendour .

Conference Dinner

Time: 20:00

Following the steamer trip, we invite you to a conference dinner near the iconic Blue Wonder Bridge. This dinner will feature an array of traditional dishes, complemented by local drinks and desserts, and will include an entertaining band performance.
